TEAC MC-DX32i Slim CD System Not bad for the money, but!

Good and bad, Bought this unit last year, but not through amazon. For the most part, loved the sound quality for the cost.

One hitch that bugged me was the fact that when I bought it (last year), the Ipod dock does not work with the newer generation Ipod and Iphones and the sales person had told me you could buy just the dock when they update the system. Well, TEAC updated the dock, and I just contacted TEAC directly. They told me that you can not buy any of the components separately. You have to buy a new system. I really didn't know what to say, you can not buy replacement components??? Go figure, makes no sense.
More issues than its worth, I was given this stereo as a Christmas present. My cousin was given the same one. it worked great for the first couple of months. However my cousin said that hers stopped playing her cd's and then the sound started getting screwed up. about six months later my stereo would not play the music on my ipod even though i hadnt changed anything in the stereo or the ipod. Furthermore the radio reception sucks. If i were you look harder and find some thing better.
Teac system, (What's this?) We were looking for a compact sound system for the kitchen and eating area, and this one certainly fits the bill. Having most of our music on the iPod meand all the mucic is with us in a compact format. But we also wanted to be able to play new CD's as we got them.

This system fits the bill. The sound is excellent, and you have the option of mounting the speakers on the wall - they are quite flat, but sound great. The is a separate subwoofer, which does take up space, but adds to the sound quality.

Issues I have is that the controls are not as intuitive as they could be (the system has to be off to set the time); you do have to point the remote directly at the system for it to respond; and the wires supplied could be longer to allow for more flexabilty in speaker placement. And finally, getting CD's in and out of the vertical player can be awarkward at times.

All in all, I'm happy with it. Great sound at a good price.
Bad buttons -nice sound, Just bought this at Costco on Black Friday for use in my classroom. Sound is fine and player doesn't have a big footprint.

I am greatly disappointed in the remote! I was counting on it to work as I move around the area where we are singing and dancing. The buttons don't respond well. I have to push and push and try to feel where exactly the contact point is to make the mp3 player respond. I see another reviewer wrote about the difficulty of using the remote, so I guess it isn't just my machine.
I'm no sound expert, But this stereo has really great sound. I can make my neighbors really sorry if I ever need to.

I've only had it for about a month but I'm extremely pleased with the iPod function. Haven't got around to using the CD part and I can't stand the radio, so that's out, but I haven't had any problems yet. Subwoofer sounds amazing and the system's all together very pretty.
Not bad for the money, but!, (What's this?) I like to design of this self system. We bought it for the bedroom and got rid of the night stand clock as well as consolidated a few other gadgets for the TV and iPod. The sub-woofer is a bit of a disappointment in that it doesn't have "deep base" compared to a speaker system we had hooked to our iPod, but the sound is OK. I was impressed by the construction of the speakers being metal and not feeling cheap. They produce crisp clear tones and hung nicely on the wall. The remote is not so good, you have to point it directly at the system, even then it's still is not always responsive. The CD skips with the slightest bump, but we rarely use CD's anymore so it was no big deal. My iPod Classic plays music and charges, but the video doesn't work through the system.
teac 10i, Ive had this teac10i for over a year with no problem. There are TWO antenna hookup. The little wire and the little antenna. Hook BOTH of them and no problem. The sound is awesome with plenty of adjustment room for bass/treble. Ipod comes with adaptors; but this unit does not charge battery for the new nano itouch or iphone which does not bother me since the battery does last a long time. Cd works great! It could open up about another 1/2 inch for room with putting cd in and taking out where you have to place it under the cover a little bit but once you get the hang of it after a few times, it is easy. For the price and the size, this is by far, the best Ive had for home listening. Remote is very easy and setup is easy.
Great sound for the money, (What's this?) I was amazed at the quality of the sound produced by these thin speakers. I haven't used the ipod dock, only the CD player, but I'm sure that would sound as good. I bought a Sony bookshelf system from Fry's and it didn't sound half as good and cost nearly $100 more.
TEAC CD-X10i - Great bookshelf system, (What's this?) This little system sounds much better than I thought it would. It has a big presence, thanks to the subwoofer (not always shown). It is easy to set up and the iPod dock is very handy. I bouhgt a new system, but beware - my old one just died after about 3 years. Still, I liked it and it isn't too expensive, so I bought another.
Good sound, some details need work, I bought this to use in the bedroom. The sound is pretty good, and there is plenty of bass. I don't use the CD player a lot, but I haven't had the problems others have reported with it. It will not play MP3 CD's. The three biggest problems:

The display is way too bright, and there is no way to dim it. We have to cover it up when we go to bed. My old Teac unit automatically dimmed when you activated the sleep timer, this is a step backwards.

It will not charge my Touch 2G, and the dock is a little sloppy to plug into.

The remote is pretty useless. The membrane buttons don't work that well, and they all feel the same. The range is quite short, and you have to be precise in aiming it.

Really though, I didn't find anything else for the price that I liked as well.

JVC NXPS1 Audio System with iPod Connect Great Sound System for the $$

Great sound for a small price, This little unit really packs a punch for its size. I picked one up for a steal on clearance at Sears for under $30. I must say it was money very well spent. The two small speakers combined with the sub woofer provide the perfect amount of sound for use in my living room. It's much smaller than the 10+ year old bookshelf system that it replaced. I have been able to play all of my iPods (Nano, 4th Gen, Classic, Touch) with no problem. My only peeve is having to physically go over to the iPod to select a new artist or play list. The preset EQ settings are average. I have found that it is best to my liking to just adjust the bass and treble to what I like. Overall I am very pleased with this system. For the sound I would expect to pay at least $80, but not the MSRP of $249.99. For that much you may as well buy a HTIB.

    Pros:
    Small Size
    Great sound

    Cons:
iPod controls are limited to PAUSE, NEXT, PREVIOUS.
    iPod dock cable is short.
iPod "dock" is at a small angle.
great unit for price, (What's this?) Very happy with this. I bought it for my son and he loves it. Easy to put together and the sound quality is very good.
my first audio update, Tis was my first audio system. I bought it for my laptop to view films, listen to music. The first impression is wow, such huge sound from such little speaker! The design is very attractive and takes little space!
By the way i bought it at Sears for 50 bucks! Only 50 bucks! Amazon shame on you!
Now i bought 5.1 onkyo receiver, elite pioneer central speaker and two infinity bookshelf speaker.
Great Sound System for the $$, I own this system for about two years now, and I love it!! The sound quality is amazing for such compact speakers, and definitely for the price! I love the Ipod port, I plug my IPhone in every night even if im not listening to music, I use it for charging.
Looks great on paper, Last only a few months, I purchased this to save on desktop space. Once I received the product my computer could not be hooked up with the usb, I had to use the aux jack. After about 4 months of use the product does not work anymore.
pretty good, (What's this?) This is a pretty good shelf unit. it's TINY - kinda like 3 rubic cubes in a row.
the subwoffer makes the sound much better.
the L & R speakers are good sound quality, but not great.
the Ipod adapter is a little funky when you plug it in, it sort of fast forwards your song, and displays some interface message.
you start the song over and it's fine. otherwise it plays great.
good value for the money, good for a small room or kids, but if you want really good sound, or have a big area, you may want something different.
really great system with very few flaws, I purchased three of these units from ebay, and all three of them were refurbished. I paid anywhere from $25-$50 for each of the three units. I am extremely pleased with the sound quality of them, and ease of use. The build quality is also excellent. You can play music from a thumb drive, but only if you set up a playlist on the thumb drive, which was annoying. I hook up my iPod touch and iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 to the units and they work great, with the added bonus that the unit charges the devices too. If I want to play music directly from my laptop or Samsung mp3 player I hook them up via an auxiliary cable. The one draw back is that it does not have an FM tuner. Something I get around one of three ways. 1) use an app on your apple device that plays music like Fusion or GIRL radio or Pandora, you can also get FM tuner apps. 2) use the laptop in the same manner 3) my Samsung media player has a built-in FM tuner. I've never had any problems with any of these units and for the prices I paid for them, they have been WELL worth the investment. Having owned them for more than a year, I can say now that I would have paid upwards of $150 for one.
Doesn't support all IPods, In my opinion this is a very good product with three inconvenient issues: First it only supports IPods that are fourth generation and newer (not all IPods as claimed). While the third generation has the doc connector and fits the cable, it still doesn't connect. Second, the AUX port is on the front behind a door that must be opened to be used. It would be better if it was located on the back, or better yet on the back and front. The third thing I'd like to see is the ability to use the standard IPod doc, currently it only functions when my IPod is connected directly to the provided cable.
    it is okay,
JVC NXPS1 Audio System, (What's this?) Great sound for the price. The size is just right for my use. Use it every day and am very pleased with the sound. The USB port solves all my space problems as I just rip all my songs to mp3 and store them on a thumb drive. This sytem is pretty basic but does allow you to have random selection of songs - a very nice feature. There is an adjustment for bass/treble and volume. A lot more features that I expected for the price. It also has an Ipod feature that I don't use. Apparently you can hook this up to your PC, have not tried that. The earphone jack is also a nice feature. There is a alarm wakeup function that I have never used but could be useful.

Yamaha MCR-140DBU Micro Component System (Dark Blue) Awesome audio.

Yamaha Vintage Model CD Player, (What's this?) I had reservations about purchasing used electronic equipment. However, it arrived in "just like new" condition including the original box, manual and descriptions of the product.
Nice, but I'm a little let down., (What's this?) I spent a lot of time reviewing both speaker systems and stereos, including Bose,Klipch, and others before settling on this Yamaha unit, and I must say, it didn't quite meet my expectations. The 1st time I let my wife hear it, she said it needed more bass, and she is right. And that is my biggest gripe, otherwise, it IS a very nice unit with decent sound, well built, and attractive, but too little bass.I have a Sharp XL-DH259 micro component system that I purchased from Amazon, and I like it better, and it was less $$ than this Yamaha, and has far better bass,so my advice would be to consider the Sharp for a better bang-for-your-buck.There were an awful lot of good reviews for the Yamaha, but take your time and do your homework.I didn't have the luxury of hearing before I bought, so I was going strictly by reviews and product info.
Great Gift, (What's this?) Purchased this for our 17 year old daughter for Christmas and I don't think she has turned if off yet.
Awesome audio., (What's this?) Just received my Yamaha MCR-040OR and love it. I'm a 63-year old female and had this up and running in just a few minutes. My New Year's resolution was to add more music to my life and this is perfect. I live in an apartment, so, unlike some of my neighbors, I don't wish to rattle the walls, but I could if I want to get even! :)

The sound is fabulous. I can't imagine the expensive Bose systems could beat this little baby. And the orange...
Little system, Big Sound, (What's this?) I am astounded by the sound that comes out of this "desktop" stereo! Equals the huge Pioneer system we had. Easy to use, easy to connect.
Great all-in-one!, (What's this?) I bought this all-in-one as a first stereo for my daughter for Christmas. It's easy to set up and just as easy to use. The iPod adapter works with my iPod nano. If you really want the wireless capability without buying the higher MCR140 model with the special Yamaha remote you can use an Airport Express and connect it to the mini-plug "Portable" input on the front. Any Apple device that supports Air Play (iPad, iPhone, Mac etc...) can then stream to the Yamaha. As others have noted the only quirk is you can only advance tracks on a CD via the remote so don't lose it! Very pleased with this unit.
still happy after a year, (What's this?) We have a small house. Small size and good tone are important are important considerations for any stereo system we buy. I bought this system a year ago on the strength of the reviews, after the old stereo died. It sits in a corner of the living room and has been a perfect fit for us. It can fill the house with good quality sound. The radio and CD player work well, and the "portable" option allows us to connect our ITunes library music from the computer. The IPod connector/charger is handy as well. I like the fact that it only uses a tiny amount of electricity when it is turned off, and is completely unlit when off. Also it turns itself off after two hours [except for radio] if nothing is going on- for example, playing CDs.
Great item, (What's this?) Got this for my mother for a Christmas gift, she is 81 so was looking for something simple enough for her to use that had good sound quality. This item has met my expectations and perhaps exceeded them a bit. My mother can't stop telling everyone how she loves it. The radio is coming in well for her and the sound quality is good. Surprisingly she loves the remote as well.
Great system!, (What's this?) Purchased this system after reading the reviews online and on Yamaha's website. I was looking for a small stereo for my home office that had an iPod dock but could also play the radio and CD. This system fit the bill perfectly. I had checked other systems locally and had considered going with a Bose iPod dock even though it wouldn't let me have a radio or CD functionality. I'm glad I found this instead! The sound from the speakers is rich and full, the ability to control treble and bass are nice. The option to have a USB port on the front is great as well as the option to move the speakers away from the main component for a truer stereo sound. The only weird part is the time is sent on a 24hr clock without a 12 hr feature, but I rarely use it.
Yamaha and Bose, (What's this?) I listened to Sony microcomponent systems, the Bose wave, and this Yamaha, using the following CDs: Styx, John Williams' Film Scores, Sissel (for upper register vocals), and the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.

JVC Home NXD2 60W Mini System with Dual iPod Docks

Nice System!, (What's this?) Overall this system really packs a punch and has some nice sound quality. My ONLY complaints is that it does not have a subwoofer jack in the back so it makes it hard to add a subwoofer. The system is lacking in bass but it definately has a lot of power and will do the trick for a party or small get together.

Yamaha TSX-120BL Desktop Audio System (Single, Black)

Good sound but with alarm flaws, This system sounds good with an MP3 player docked. The FM radio has trouble getting a clean signal with several of my local stations. The controls are all clearly labeled and you can set the Alarm and all the basic things without consulting the manual every time. The alarm can be set to wake to a specified radio station of a specified playlist. There are two 24 hr alarms but you cannot specify days of the week for the alarm. The display is crowded but it does dim properly so as not to light up the room like many of these digital clock radios do. For me the worst flaw is that the alarm turns itself off every morning after it goes off so you have to remember to turn it back on every night. The alarm cannot be turned on or off or set from the remote control - you must use the top panel buttons.
Awesome sound but not good for beside use..., (What's this?) I have been searching for the perfect combo of alarm clock and great sound for my bedside that would also have an iTouch dock.
I had tried and returned the Boston Acoustics Duo-i Plus which also had great sound (and a slightly better FM tuner) but suffered from the low frequency hum at low volumes when the iTouch was mounted and turned on that so many other reviewers have noted.

So I really thought that this Yamaha was going to be my ticket! Yamaha makes great stuff in every category that they are involved in. But it seems they really dropped the ball when it came to the alarm features on this unit.

Here are the cons that forced me to return it and keep looking:

    1) The size of the clock display is really small. I was surprised.
    2) The dual alarms do not have assignable days. Which to me, made the convenience of dual alarms almost pointless.
    3) The snooze time is NOT adjustable! And is fixed at 5 MINUTES! Seriously? Why would you hit the snooze button if you're going to get only 5 Minutes more ... you might as well get up! :)
    4) The FM tuner was not as strong as I was hoping.

The look and quality of the unit is top notch and sound is as awesome as Yamaha is known for.

If you're not going to use this for your main bedside alarm and FM stations are strong in your area - then I can heartily recommend this unit.
What a sound!, (What's this?) I was having doubts between this awesome device and the bose, but after comparing and hearing both, the difference was remarkable and the Yamaha beat it way too far. The bass is excellent without distorsion and the radio function is very useful. I'm very happy with it and if you buy it you won't regret it.
Great desktop radio with good alarm features, I bought this to use primarily as a bedside alarm clock that would also play music and charge my iphone. At the same time my wife surprised me with the Yamaha TSX-70, which is really nice too. That gave me a few days to compare them and see which I prefered. They were both great in their own way, if I only I could combine the features of the two it would be the perfect unit. I ended up keeping the TSX-120 for the following reasons:
-Customization. You can set it to wake you to any playlist you choose. It also has 5 different alarm sounds, some are buzzer type sounds, but also a couple melodies which to me are better than a buzzer. I use a soft melody which is almost pleasant to wake up to, if there is such a thing.
-Sound quality is very good. Rich, full sound with several DSP settings that make a difference. Way better than most alarm/docks. In Bose class sound. Actually, at a store I compared it side by side with the bose and actually preferred it but they are both good. Of course you can't compare these to full size systems, but for it's size I'd say it's great.
-Convienent button locations and intuitive controls. Easy for me to find the snooze and alarm buttons in the dark. Two alarms that are easily set, plus when enabled the alarm time is displayed so you know for sure it's set and for what time.

Cons: - the display is small and a bit cluttered.
Too Little For Too Much, (What's this?) First, let me say that I am a huge Yamaha fan. I have three Yamaha receivers in use throughout the house and several others that have been replaced scattered through several other houses. It really pains me that I have to give this a split score, a 5 for what it does do and a 3 for what it should do at this price. I guess that's what audio magazines rate as "value".

Yamaha seems to resist adding features to their audio equipment. For example, it took years for their AV receivers to get a decent number of HDMI inputs. Or any at all. That's why I stuck with my RX-V1 for so long; beautiful sound, eight years to get four HDMI inputs on the RX-V1900, a nicely priced AV receiver that sounds as good as that old RX-V1 but has some newer features and for a very reasonable price. This same conservative design approach has really cut into the TSX-120's ability to be a fully useful device, especially when they are charging this premium price.

Like all Yamaha audio products this radio sounds absolutely terrific as either a radio or as a playback device for an iPod. And that's the good part. Also on the good side is that it has two alarm inputs for you and your SO's convenience. But that is about the outer edge of the good features for this radio. What it does, it does really well. It just does not do enough.

  • Alarm modes: music, beep, music + beep

Smart and Sophisticated in any Decor The Yamaha TSX-120 is a compact, convenient and attractive way to bring musical enjoyment to your bedroom. Versatile enough to play a wide variety of music sources, it's sure to keep you entertained. Set it to wake you to your favorite music in the morning, and then use it as a handy place to keep things you need, like eyeglasses or keys. Sony CMTBX5BT CMT Micro Component System with Bluetooth Technology

Reasonable price and good sound, This product is reasonably cheap, and the sound is decent for the price. I bought a pair of cheap speaker stands ($34) from Amazon, and it has improved the sound a lot. I would suggest anyone who buys this system does the same. I also got the bluetooth adapter so I can play music from my computer's itunes, and it works perfectly, although you should avoid the drivers on the CD that comes with the product as they messed up my Microsoft Office and I had to reinstall it.
Not bad for $100, (What's this?) I like to keep these things short, so...basically everything is great, except for:
    - no alarm clock
    - Blue-tooth feature is not very straight-forward, I had to RTFM to figure it out.
Bluetooth not compatible with iPhone, This is a nice product, but I bought it for use with my iphone to stream music via bluetooth. Doesn't work. Researched it and it seems the iPhone is the problem, it doesn't have the proper/standard bluetooth protocol to stream the music (90% of cellphones with music capability do have this A2DP industry standard protocol).
Not Sony's fault, but there is no fix for the iPhone and bluetooth will NOT work. Works fine docked.
Not what I thought, (What's this?) This is called a "component" system which leads me to believe it has jacks for adding additional components. It doesn't. The only way to interface with this system externally is via Bluetooth. This is a standalone system.
Great, I had a bluetooth probelm with my Macbook Tiger connecting to CMTBX5BT. But after I upgrade to Leopard, Apple somehow just fix the bluetooth problem. Its a excellent product. Nice Sound and very fancy look.
great little stereo, bluetooth...not yet, (What's this?) I wanted to play music from my laptop onto this stereo so I bought the Iogear GBU221 adapter that was showing up in the "Customers Who Bought..."section. I got the bluetooth to play, but it cut off after about 30 seconds.
Great system with a fair price tag, (What's this?) It's been a while since I got a CMT-BX5BT and there are several things I would like to point out.

-It's very convenient and important to have a remote with a music system today. When I received the box, I wanted to make sure there was a remote included but couldn't find any descriptions on the box mentioning about it. I read in someone else's review here that it was included so I decided to open it anyway, and there WAS indeed a remote included in the box! :)

-Another very important quality is sound, and this system offers a good sound quality. It is pretty loud too, compared to other similar products of this price range.

-Bluetooth was a neat feature, but I personally didn't find it too useful. If you are like me, CMT-BX1 is strongly recommened which is almost the same minus the bluetooth function. I compared it with this product at a store one day -- the sides of speakers were slightly narrower, and a different material was used for the cabinet of the main unit.

-Being able to play mp3 files on a CD is a great feature. However we are not able to browse through the folders while we are still listening to a song though.

-I do have a few complaints though. The button layout is a little confusing, and buttons are tiny.
Nice shelf stereo w/ bluetooth capability, Consistent with Sony's usual high quality, this is a solid shelf stereo system. All functions work properly and very straight forward and logical in their operation. I'm a bluetooth junkie so I really like the bluetooth capability, and it was really the chief reason for purchasing this particular unit. Paired up quickly to my smartphone and laptop with no problems. Lastly, unit looks good versus some other shelf stereos that look cheap.
Versatile, easy to use, great price!, (What's this?) I got this for my home office use streaming from my computer. After a year and a half, I simply love this compact stereo and would recommend it at a heart beat.

    PAIRING
Pairing is easy. The very first time you have to enter the default code of 0000 but it's seamless thereafter. Now all I have to do is turn on the stereo and put it on Bluetooth mode, establish the Bluetooth connection from my computer, make sure the BT driver is the active audio output, and fire up WMP. That's it.

    USAGE & SOUND
As I mentioned, this is used in my home office, across the room between my computer and the unit. It's mostly background music with occasional blasting of kids music when they come in to play and dance to music. It's worked very well at this volume. At $130, I'd say it's great sound for the money!

    APPLICATION
I might note that surprisingly iTunes does not support AVRCP which means you can't use the stereo remote to go to next song and back. But the good old WMP does, and that's what I am using most of the time.

    PECULIARITY
In the beginning, I experienced some funky speed up/down and pitch up/down while playing back via BT. Perhaps the BT buffer was not loading and feeding the stream fast enough? I don't know. It sounded like the song simply modulated to a different key. It was very annoying. Fortunately it went a way after a while without any intervention or rearrangement of electronics in the room.
Bluetooth: we ain't fully there yet, folks, (What's this?) This is a nice little system for the price but it does have some drawbacks, mostly due to its Bluetooth implementation -- which in fairness I should say is not all Sony's fault.

First of all, you must pair the receiver with whatever other B/T device you're going to be using with it; it is bidirectional, meaning it can transmit the audio it's playing to a set of Bluetooth stereo headphones (Motorokr S9, for example) or can receive audio from a music player such as an MP3-enabled cell phone, or (in my case) my laptop PC with a Bluetooth USB adapter. Once you've paired it -- which involves setting a pin code on both devices, a not entirely intuitive process -- you must then CONNECT it. While this is simple enough to do by right-clicking the CMTBX5BT in "My Bluetooth Places" on the desktop, then clicking "connect", the entire two-step setup procedure could easily confuse someone with limited computer experience.

Barbie Petal Sound System with iPod Dock

Misleading Description, Although this is cute, it gives the impression that it works with MP3 players - including the matching Barbie Petal MP3 player - but it does not. There is even a picture of the Barbie MP3 player on the box. You cannot dock the MP3 player, only plug it in and play it. We bought it specifically for my 7-year to go with her new very own MP3 player, and it did not work as advertised. They are very vague about it even in the instructions. It is perfect if you have an Ipod, but not an MP3 player.
Does not play video output, This unit would have been perfect for my daughter's room to play videos off the ipod and display on her tv. Problem is it would not pass the video from either my 5th generation Ipod Classic nor my Ipod Nano 3G through the unit's video output. Maybe I have a lemon as this product does advertise that it has this ability and it even specifies 5G Ipod compatible with the video output.
Very good for its price., (What's this?) Bottom line....perfect for our 8 year old daughter with an ipod nano.

I wish the buttons were labelled better and were lighted (for my older man eyes at night), but this serves the purpose perfectly. It has the radio and the ipod functions.
Disappointed, (What's this?) I was all excited when I purchased this as a gift for my daughters. When I received the item I wrapped it up and gave it to my girls. When they opened it they were so excited. Once I plugged it in we realized that the FM radio didn't work. The radio doesn't pick up any stations unless its on the floor. Plus, when I bought it the description said it comes with 5 Ipod adapters but it NEVER did. My daughters cannot connect the Ipod without the adapters. We have looked every where for an adapter and still have not been able to locate one for this radio/alarm clock. :-( The only thing good about this item is that the alarm clock works. Overall, its very pretty in design but not much else is good about it unless you have the adapters. I would not recommend this item to anyone.
Cute and works great!, First off, the dock portion is for iPod and nothing else. You can use other players with it, but they have to run off their battery and the sound goes in through some auxiliary connections behind the unit. The box says "for iPod" all over it, and even says the docking station charges iPods-- it does not say anywhere that the dock is for other players. There is one bubble that says there is an aux input for other players, including the pictured Barbie player (and believe me, it's a very tiny picture). Other devices will not dock with this product. It does not claim anywhere that other, non-iPod devices are dockable. I don't know how much more clear the packaging could be about this.

That said, it was easy to get out of the box, plug it in, and start using it. There are several trays included so that your player will fit comfortably, including a couple for non-iPods that do not dock with it. Find the tray that best cradles your device, and snap it in. Then plug it in, put in your iPod, and turn it on. The buttons are all pretty straightforward, and I imagine you'd have no trouble with the clock or the alarm.

While the sound is not of stereo quality, it does pump up the volume exactly like I need with my hearing issues. There's a radio on it in addition to the iPod dock, and it works like most any clock radio would. It's constructed so that the iPod sits at a near-perfect 90 degree angle, which is probably OK for bedside use. I'm using this in another area, and this would have been better for me if it tilted back a couple of degrees.

This is perfect for a child, as well as a nice addition to "the Barbie room" for you collectors out there. It looks really cute with my doll collection, and plays my movies and music while I'm in there moving things around or showing off my plastic girls. Great or kids-- and the kid in you.
ipod, Terrible one you put your ipod on it nothing works it dose not let you play your music & you can do nothing at all.
